Roti Canai / Paratha is famaous in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, special in Sumatera (Aceh and Medan) and West Kalimantan (Pontianak). In my hometown, we eate for breakfast with curry. We call roti canai.
Ingredients :
- 300 grs strong flour.
- 1 egg, beaten lightly.
- 100 ml boiled water (as needed)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 20 grs ghee (as needed)
Instruction :
- Boil water until boiled.
- Mix flour, egg and salt and add water as needed.
- Knead until blended and not sticky to the touch.
- Devide the dough 7 - 8 pieces.
- Mince with roller pin until flat.
- Spread with melted ghee.
- Fold right and left side to center.
- Fold up and down side to the center.
- Mince once again until flat.
- Put fry pan on the flame, put the dough on the fry pan.
- If one side is brownies, put another side until brownies.
- Give little melted ghee both of side.
- Served with curry.
