Baklava is sweet snack of Middle Eastern. Generally with square or diamond shape.Filled with many kinds of mashed nuts as peanut, almond and pistachio and pour with sugar syrup. Now, I made baklava tart with caramel lime syrup.
- Puff Pastry.
- 1 cup mashed nut (peanut, almond and pistachio).
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
- 3/4 cup palm sugar.
- 1/2 cup fresh milk.
- 2 tbsp honey.
- 1 tbsp butter, room temperature.
- 1 egg to smear.
Caramel Lime Syrup Ingredients :
- 3 tbsp sugar.
- 1 cup water.
- 2 tbsp lime juice.
Instruction :
- Mix all of ingredients and mix well, set aside.
- Heat oven 180°C.
- Use round cookies cutter to cut puff pastry (every mould is 2 sheets). Put puff pastry on the pie mould, spread mixture of nuts and covered with another puff pastry.
- Do until finish and smeared with yolk surface of puff pastry.
- Bake until well done for 30 minutes or golden brown.
- While wait for baklava, we prepare caramel lime syrup. Heat sugar until melt and brownish, pour water. Let until sugar melt. Turn off the flame.
- Add lime juice and stir until combine evenly. Set aside.
- When baklava is well done, pour the syrup . Let cool and served.
