Golap Pitha (Bangladesh Pitha)

Golap Pitha is sweet of Bangladesh. Golap means Rose, and Pitha means some fried snack. After fried, the pitha is soaked in sugar syrup. Made of milk, flour, ghee.







Ingredients :
  • 1 cup all purpose flour.
  • 1 cup fresh milk.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 1 tbsp oil/ghee.
  • Oil for deep frying.
Ingredients of sugar syrup :
  • 1 cup sugar.
  • 1/2 cup water.

Instruction :
  1. Pour milk into sauce pan, add salt, simmer with medium fire until boiled.
  2. Add flour, stir quick until mixture with milk for 2 - 3 minutes ont the flame.
  3. Turn off the flame and let it cool until you can hold it.
  4. Rub your hand with oil/ghee, and knead until smooth for 6 -7 minutes.
  5. Take little the dough and flatten, cut with round cookie cutter diametre 8 - 10 cms. We need 2 sheets and 1 little ball for flower buds and 4 sheets for blossom. Check the pict how to make.
  6. Preheat oil for deep frying. Put rose flower and fry until cooked.
  7. Puor water and sugar into sauce pan, simmer until sugar melted and boiled. Set aside.
  8. After fried, transfer to serving plate and soaked in sugar syrup.
  9. Ready to be served.
