Baklava Tart with Caramel Lime Syrup

Baklava is sweet snack of Middle Eastern. Generally with square or diamond shape.Filled with many kinds of mashed nuts as peanut, almond and pistachio and pour with sugar syrup. Now, I made baklava tart with caramel lime syrup.





Ingredients :
  • Puff Pastry.
  • 1 cup mashed nut (peanut, almond and pistachio).
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
  • 3/4 cup palm sugar.
  • 1/2 cup fresh milk.
  • 2 tbsp honey.
  • 1 tbsp butter, room temperature.
  • 1 egg to smear.
Caramel Lime Syrup Ingredients :
  • 3 tbsp sugar.
  • 1 cup water.
  • 2 tbsp lime juice.
Instruction :
  1. Mix all of ingredients and mix well, set aside.
  2. Heat oven 180°C.
  3. Use round cookies cutter to cut puff pastry (every mould is 2 sheets). Put puff pastry on the pie mould, spread mixture of nuts and covered with another puff pastry.
  4. Do until finish and smeared with yolk surface of puff pastry.
  5. Bake until well done for 30 minutes or golden brown.
  6. While wait for baklava, we prepare caramel lime syrup. Heat sugar until melt and brownish, pour water. Let until sugar melt. Turn off the flame.
  7. Add lime juice and stir until combine evenly. Set aside.
  8. When baklava is well done, pour the syrup . Let cool and served.
