Solo Sausages

Indonesia sausages from Solo (Central Java). Differ of sausages in general, because the sausages from Solo with crepes wrap sautè minced meat or shreded of chicken. Dipped into lightly beaten egg and fried until golden brown.

Ingredients of Sheets :
  • 300 gr bread flour.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper.
  • 1 tbsp sugar.
  • 3 medium size egg, lightly beaten.
  • 300 ml fresh milk.
  • 450 ml water.
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil.
Ingredients of stuffing :
  • 500 gr minced beef.
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced (5 shallot).
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped.
  • 2 bay leaves.
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 1 tsp sugar.
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper.
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg.
  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander.
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
  • 100 ml broth.
  • 2 tbsp butter for sauteing.
Additional Ingredients :
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten.
  • Oil to fry.
Instruction to prepare stuffing :
  1. Heat the butter to sautè the stuffing.
  2. Add the red onion and garlic, sautè until fragrant.
  3. Add minced beef, stir until beef is white color and mix well with onion and garlic.
  4. Pour the broth and stir until combine evenly.
  5. Add salt, sugar, ground pepper, ground coriander, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon. Stir until combine evenly.
  6. Cooked until water dries up and stir occasionally so not burn.
  7. After water dries up, turn of the flame and set aside.
Instruction to prepare sheets :
  1. Mix the flour, salt, ground pepper, sugar into a big bowl.
  2. Pour fresh milk gradually and stir with whisk hand or wood spoon until combine evenly.
  3. Pour the wate and stir until combine evenly with the batter.
  4. Add the lightly beaten egg, stir until combine evenly.
  5. Add oil stir until combine evenly with the batter.
  6. Heat the frying pan (diameter 20 cm). Pour the batter with ladle  and make as thin as possible, and shake until cover all of surface of frying pan
  7. Roasted with medium flame, when you shake the frying pan and crepes remove, it means the crepes is well done. Transfer to plate. Do until the batter finishes.
Instruction to prepare Solo Sausages :
  1. Take a sheet, place 2 tsp of stuffing or as needed. Roll up. do until the stuffing and sheets finish.
  2. Preheat oil to fry the sausages.
  3. Dip the sausages into the lightly beaten egg, and fry until golden brown.
  4. Ready to be served with bird eyes chilies or chili sauce.
