Shrimps Paste Chili Sauce Super Hot

For Indonesia, eat not complete without some spicy food. We love spicy food. We have many kind complementary food when eating rice or soupy such as sambal bajak (stir fry chili sauce), sambal terasi (shrimps paste chili sauce) and sambal ijo (green chili sauce) ... etc. I ever share about sambal bajak and sambal ijo. Now, I will share sambal terasi.

Ingredients :
  • 15 red bird eyes chilies.
  • 2 big red chilies.
  • 2 curly chilies.
  • 1 medium size tomato
  • 1 medium size onion.
  • 3 cloves garlic.
  • 2 tsp shrimps paste, grilled or fried.
  • 1 tbsp sugar.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • Vegetable oil as needed to fry.
Instruction :
  1. Cleaned tomato, red bird eyes chilies, re chilies and curly chilies, fried until wilt. Transfer to plate and turn off the flame.
  2. Pour all of ingredients into food processor and pulse until half smooth so that they still have sheet of chilies.
  3. Ready to be served as complementary food. Eat with hot rice, cah kangkung (stir fried water spinach) and fried dried mackarel fish. Yummy.
