Bitter Melon Stuffed Minced Meat with Coconut Milk

I ever cooked stir fried bitter melon Bangladesh Style. Now, I cooked our food (Indonesia fooe), bitter melon stuffed minced meat with coconut mil (gulai pare isi daging). Hot, spices and little bitter, taste of bitter melon.

Ingredients :
  • 3 bitter melon, washed and cut 4 cm and cleaned all of seeds.
  • 100 gr minced meat.
  • 1 egg.
  • 1/2 medium size onion.
  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste.
  • 1 tbsp dry red chili paste.
  • Salt is required.
  • 300 ml coconut milk.
  • Oil for saute.
Grinded Spices :
  • 3 cloves garlic.
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper.
  • 1/3 tsp salt.
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander.
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin.
Instruction :
  1. Preheat frypan, pour minced meat and grinded spices, stir fry until meat into white and combine evenly with spices.
  2. Transfer into food processor and pulse until smooth.
  3. Transfer into bowl, add egg and stir until combine evenly. Set aside.
  4. Take a bitter melon and stuffed with minced meat.
  5. Preheat steamer pot and steam the bitter melon for 15 minutes.
  6. Preheat oil and stir fry onion, garlic and ginger paste, dry red chili paste and salt until fragrant.
  7. Pour coconut milk and simmer until thick.
  8. Add the bitter melon and cook until coconut milk dries up.
  9. Ready to be served.
