Beef Skewers

Satay or sate originated in Java, Indonesia. Pieces of meat is skewered and roasted on a bonfire until mature. Served with peanut sauce.







Ingredients :
  • 500 grs calf, diced.
  • 4 tbs sweet soy sauce.
  • 3 cms galangal, grated.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
  • 2 tbsp tamarind juice.
  • Skewers as needed.
Ingredients of Spices :
  • 1 medium size onion.
  • 3 cloves garlic.
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin.
  • 1 tsp ground coriander.
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper.
  • 1 tsp salt.
Ingredients Peanut Sauce :
  • 200 grs peanut, roasted until brownish and pulse.
  • 2 cloves garlic, roasted with peanut.
  • 50 grs brown sugar, roughly chopped.
  • 300 mls tamarind juice.
  • 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce.
  • Salt is required.
Instruction :
  1. Peanut sauce : pulse peanut and garlic. Boil the finely ground peanuts mixed with tamarind juice, sweet soy sauce, salt, and brown sugar unthil thickened and oily.
  2. Put the beef in a large bowl, marinated with spices, sweet soy sauce, grated ginger, vegetable oil and tamarin juice. Let stand for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Beef skewer pierced with a skewer.
  4. Grill while smeared with remaining seasoning and turned upside until cooked.
  5. Ready to be served with peanut sauce.
