Turtle Buns

Past time, and play with the bread dough. Bored look the round buns. So I got an idea to make buns with shape the turtle. Not really difficult, all of shape is round. And then merge all. For eyes, I put the raisins.

Ingredients :
  • 150 gr bread flour.
  • 200 gr all purpose flour.
  • 50 gr milk powder.
  • 150 gr steamed potato, mashed.
  • 1 pack instant yeast.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar.
  • 22 gr honey (1 tbsp).
  • 1 egg, beaten lightly.
  • Lukewarm fresh milk as needed.
  • 1 yolk for greasing.
Instruction :
  1. Mix the flour, milk powder, potato, yeast, salt, sugar and egg. Stir until combine evenly.
  2. Pour lukewarm milk gradually and knead until smooth and no sticky to the touch.
  3. Round up and place it in a bowl. Put in warm place, and cover with damp towel, Let stand for 1 hour.
  4. After proofing , knead again until the air in the dough runs out completely.
  5. Preheat oven 180°C.
  6. To create a turtle shape : Take 150 gr the dough, rounds and put nutella for filling or jam (as you like) and rounds up. Put on the baking pan has been covered with baking paper. Heads of turtle, take 10 gr and round. Attached to the body. For the eyes I put pieces of raisins. For my dough, I got 3 turtle buns.
  7. Then sliced upper of turtle body to get a model of home tortoise. Brush with yolk surface turtel buns. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  8. Bake until cooked and golden brown.
  9. Ready to be served warm. If you want for tomorrow, store them in airtight container. My buns can save for 3 - 4 days remain soft.
