Naan (Flatbread)

Naan is another flatbread from South Asia. It is different with Rooti (Chapati) and Paratha. To make Naan we need yeast and how to prepare like rooti.

Ingredients :
  • 250 gr strong flour.
  • 1 tsp dried yeast.
  • 2 tsp sugar.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 50 - 75 ml lukewarm milk.
  • Melt ghee, as needed.
Instruction :
  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar  and salt. Make a hole in the middle of the flour.
  2. Pour milk gradually and knead until the dough is smooth and not sticky to the touch. Allow the dough and covered with a damp cloth for 30 minutes until the dough is double volume from the previous.
  3. Knead once again and devide 6 - 7 pieces small balls.
  4. Sprinkle table with flour, knead the dough and shape around and flatten.
  5. Preheat non stick frying pan, grilled Naan until brownish and turn it over. Spread surface with melt ghee. Turn it over again and spread another side with melt ghee.
  6. Turn it over again and grilled a moment.
  7. Transfer to plate and grilled another naan. Do it until finish.
  8. Ready to be served hot.
