Lontong (Rice Cake) Aluminium Foil

Eid is coming, I miss lontong sayur. Special dish when Eid. I live abroad. difficult to find palm leaves to make ketupat or banana leaves to make lontong because so expensive a sheet of banana leaf is 3€. So I have idea to make lontong wrapped aluminium foil.





Ingredients :
  • 200 grs rice, wash and drained.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 1 1/2 lt water to simmer rice.
  • Aluminium foil as needed.
  • Bamboo mat.
Instruction :
  1. Simmers water until boiled.
  2. Pour rice and boiled until you get soft rice, but don't become porridge.
  3. Pour to filter and drain until water dries up.
  4. Place mat and then aluminium foil. Put rice as needed.
  5. Wrap rice with aluminium foil while compacted like to roll sushi.
  6. Lontong ready to be served with sayur lodeh, opor ayam, serundeng, telur rebus and sambal bajak.
