Ketoprak


Ketoprak is one of many kind typiccal dishes of Jakarta - Indonesia which added ketupat/ lontong (rice cake) as main ingredients. In addition beehoon, tofu, sprouts, crackers, cucumber, boiled egg, sweet soy sauce and peanut sauce. More than enough to get full...:D.




Ingredients :
  • 1 rice cake (lontong), cut with 1 cm thickness.
  • 1 yellow tofu, thinly sliced.
  • 100 gr beehoon, soaked into boil water until tender and drained.
  • 100 gr sprout, soaked into boil water (I skip, don't have stock in freezer).
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced.
  • 1 boiled egg, halved.
  • Crackers as needed.
  • Sweet soy sauce as needed.
  • Fried shallots as needed.
Ingredients Peanut Sauce :
  • 200 gr fried peanut.
  • 3 tbsp palm sugar.
  • 4 red cayenne peppers.
  • 1 clove garlic.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 3 tbsp tamarind juice.
  • Lukewarm water as needed.
Instruction :
  1. The first we must prepare the peanut sauce. Pulse fried peanut, red cayenne peppers, garlic, salt, palm sugar and tamarin juice until smooth. Add lukewarm water as needed and pulse again until mix evenly. Set aside.
  2. Put all of ingredients into serving plate such as lontong (rice cake), beehoon, sprout, cucumber and pour peanut sauce. Pour a bit sweet soy sauce and sprinkle shallots.
  3. Last put boiled egg and crackers. Ketoprak is ready to be served as lunch.
