Martabak Manis / Terang Bulan (Indonesia Pancake)

It is our pancake (Indonesia pancake) with stuffing chocolite rice, mashed nuts, and condensed milk. For stuffing they put many kind such black glutinous, grated cheese, etc. If you visit to Indonesia you will find it easy, because many vendors sell it. Now you can make it at home, no need special frypan, just teflon frypan with cover.


Ingredients :
  • 250 gr self raising flour.
  • 1/4 tsp salt.
  • 25 gr sugar.
  • 375 ml water.
  • 1 egg.
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda.
Ingredients Dressing :
  • Chocolate rice.
  • Mashed nuts (I used mixture of nuts : peanuts, almond, pistachio, cashewnuts).
  • Grated cheese.
  • Sweet condensed milk.
  • Sugar.
Instruction :
1. Mix all of ingredients, without baking soda. Set aside for 1 hour.







2. Preheat teflon frypan with diameter 20 - 24 cm wiht medium flame, spread with little margarine/butter and clean with cloth.
3. Pour the martabak batter is sufficiently. Wait until the martabak has small holes, sprinkle with sugar. Cover frypan until martabak matured and surface dries.





4. Transfer martabak to plate, spread surface with margarine/butter. Sprinkle with chocolate rice, mashed nuts, grated cheese, and pour by teaspoon sweet condensed milk.






















5. Flip the martabak, spread surface of martabak with margarine/butter. Cut and ready to be served.
