Prawns Kwee Tiaw


Yesterday, my lunch is Kwee Tiaw. The food is Chinese food, but so popular in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. In Malaysia and Singapore, they call Char Kwee Teow, but in Indonesia we call Kwee Tiaw (my hometown Pontianak : Mie Tiaw). Sometime we cooked with meat or seafood. The one of my favorite noodles. Always miss my hometown Pontianak - Indonesia.


Ingredients :
  • 500 grs rice noodles.
  • 50 grs garlic chives (I changed Parsley, because I can't find it at Asia Shop), roughly chopped.
  • 300 grs sprouts, cleaned.
  • 100 grs shrimps, peeled.
  • 1 medium onion, roughly chopped.
  • 2 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped.
  • 3 pcs cayenne pepper.
  • 3 tbsp dark soya sauce.
  • Salt as needed.
  • Oil for frying.
Instruction :
  1. Blend the onions, garlic and cayenne pepper.
  2. Heat oil and pour puree onion, stir fry until fragrant.
  3. Add salt, stir briefly add shrimps and fry until shrimps is reddish.
  4. Add sprouts, parsley, stir until half cooked and add little water, stir again.
  5. Add rice noodles, stir until blended.
  6. Pour soya sauce, stir until mix well. Ready to be served.
