Pastel with Bark Motif

Pastel is a culinary snack favorite as risoles. Original pastel skin without layer. What I post now the pastel skin is combine with how to make puff pastry, so that pastel skin many layer. Check my recipe below :





Ingredients :
Dough 1 for sheets :
  • 250 grs all purpose flour.
  • 25 grs olive oil.
  • 15 grs sugar.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 125 ml of water.
Dough 2 :
  • 125 grs flour.
  • 75 grs margarine / butter.
Oil for frying.

Instruction :
Dough 1 :
  1. Mix by hand flour, sugar and salt.
  2. Pour olive oil, mix and pour water gradually, stirring constantly until smooth.
  3. Devide dough 7 pieces and round.
Dough 2 :
  1. Mix flour and margarin/butter, knead until mixture.
  2. Devide dough as 7 pieces and round.
How to make Bark Motif Pastel :
  1. Milled dough 1, put  dough 2, then round again.
  2. Milled again with roller pin, rounda again. Do it twice until looked layer.
  3. Cut 2 part in the middle, take 1 part and milled vertically, until looked layer of dough.
  4. Put filling, cover and twisted the edges.
  5. Preheat oil, and fry pastel until golden brown color. Remove and drain.
  6. Serve with chili paste with hot pastel.
  7. The privilege pastel still crisp despite the cold.
