Butter Layer Cake

Another recipe from old recipe book of my mother. We call Lapis Minyak (Butter Layer), because we put melt butter to the dough when ready to bake. Originated the Layer Cake is from Sambas District (West Kalimantan - Indonesia).

Ingredients :
  • 20 eggs put in the little bowl. Remove egg and put to big bowl.
  • With the same bowl, pour sugar less than 2 finger than eggs. Pout sugar to egg.
  • 300 grs butter, melted.
  • 1 tsp spekuk powder.
  • 50 grs flour.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla.
  • 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk.
Instruction :
  1. Whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy and thick.
  2. Add flour, vanilla, spekuk powder and condensed milk, stir gently until blended.
  3. Preheat oven with temperature 200°C
  4. Prepare baking tray has been covered with baking paper.
  5. Bake every layer 100 grs + 1 tbsp melted butter.
  6. Do it until the dough finish.
