Nian Gao Wrapped Puff Pastry

When I wanted to clean my freezer, I found a Nian Gao. Nian gao is a chinese sticky cake that can be stored longer and not easily damaged if we store them properly in the refrigerator.
Usually, how to eat Nian Gao, we fried with some liquid flour. The Nian Gao dipped into liquid flour and then deep fry. But now, I make Nian Gao wrapped with puff pastry and baked until golden brown.


Ingredients :
  • 1 nian gao, cut as index finger.
  • 1 roll of puff pastry.
  • 1 egg, beaten lightly.
Instruction :
  1. Preheat oven 170°C
  2. Cut puff pastry longer and wider than nian gao. be sure when baked will not melt out.
  3. Arrange on the baking tray and smear with egg.
  4. Baked until golden brown.
