Lupis is boiling glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves and triangular shaped. Presentation by adding brown sugar sauce and a sprinkling of grated coconut. Good for breakfast or afternoon tea.
- 250 gr glutinous rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes.
- Water is required to cook glutinous rice, about 1/2 knuckle index finger.
- Salt to taste.
- Banana leaves.
- Grated coconut add a pinch of salt, steamed.
- Brown sugar sauce (100 gr brown sugar + 50 gr sugar + 400 ml water).
- 2 lt water to boil lupis (glutinous rice).
- Cook glutinous rice with water and a pinch of salt until half mature and water dries up. Always stirred so do not burn the bottom. Turn off heat.
- Banana leaves is triangular shaped and given a toothpick or coco stick that was cut short,
- Take one scoop of glutinous rice that has been cooked, put in a banana leaf that has formed a triangle, cap and give a toothpick or coco stick again well.
- Do it until the glutinous rice exhausted.
- Boil water, and boiled lupis about 30 minutes. Drain.
- Mix the grated coconut and salt, steamed about 15 minutes. So that grated coconut is not stale faster.
- Served lupis with brown sugar sauce and sprinkle with grated coconut.
Instruction to prepare Brown Sugar Sauce :
- Boile brown sugar, sugar and water until boil and thick.
- Let stand in room temperature and ready to be poured onto lupis.
